Microsoft E3 Press Conference

Of all the announcements at the Microsoft E3 Press Conference, the biggest is the release date of Grand Theft Auto 4: October 16th of next year and it'll be XBOX 360 exclusive (according to the press conference-- other sources say otherwise).

They're planning on releasing episodic chapters and downloadable content through XBOX Live. I once said that I'd buy GTA every single month if they just added a couple buildings and moved some people around, and now I have to find out if that's really true.

Their other big news was Halo 3(!) and Bill Gates showing a new XBOX Live Marketplace that will exist simultaneously on your XBOX, phone, and PC. It all sounded barely convenient enough to justify the very real risk of Bill Gates soon being able to wipe out humankind with a single click of a button.

GTA isn't 360 exclusive, it'll be out on PS3 as well

man. does anyone know if G4 is airing E3 this year, like last year?

if so, im DVRing the crap outta it. i remember last year when they showed oblivion, i think i seriously creamed myself. and now i have it in my hot little hands.

next up? getting a damn PS3, and performing enough sexual favors that they make the "tech demo" of FF7 into a real remake.

Episodic content? Meh... I do that now. It's called WoW. So far nothing I've seen has convinced me that any next-gen console is worth the money. Halo 3? Yawn. Not for 500 bucks.

Yeah, they'll always do that. And yes, the great thing is that Oblivion actually delivered on its promises.

I dunno. The last games, you actually had to wait a year before they were on anything other than PS2. It was in the contract.

Nothing's been said about PC, but Rockstar Games announced that GTA4 would be simultaneously launched for X-Box 360 and PS3. I'm a bit confused right now about what exactly Microsoft said. Either the press misinterpreted or else someone seriously fucked up.
