Activision's E3 Games

E3 week is officially underway, and what that means for game journalists is 5000 press releases in their inbox when they wake up. Most of these go in the same folder as "free Glade air fresh boner h4rd," but Activision's game announcements are worth checking out.

For the PS3, they're releasing three big games: Call of Duty 3, Tony Hawk Project 8, and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. If you've been gaming in the last few years, there's a good chance you're sick to death of WWII shooters, Tony Hawk, and Diablo-style RPGs, but we'll have to suck it up-- game developers decided that all the good genres have already been invented.

These three games are being released on the 360 as well, and Marvel and Tony Hawk (Tony Hawk Downhill Jam) will get ported to Nintendo's Wii. And while on the subject... the Nintendo Wii is a box powered by gumdrop magic and controlled by a pair of nunchucks. If Tony Hawk works on that, supernatural forces were involved.

Despite the big next-gen gaming news, the main focus of Activision's booth will be X-Men: The Official Game being released next week on virtually every system (PC, DS, XBOX, XBOX 360, GameCube, PS2, GBA). Other console games include the {I}outrageously named movie tie-in, Over the Hedge and World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions. For the PC, they're showing Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and an expansion to The Movies called Stunts & Effects.

Gumdrop Magic was the primary fuel source for the Licorice Terror Weapons employed in the third candy-land war back in '76. It might work out.

This is the week that comes every year where John lectures me over and over about the virtues and shortcomings of Play Station. Is it strange that I get all nostalgic and affectionate when E3 comes up?

Actually a skateboard game seems like it would make good use of the Uriine's... unique control system.

Of all the cool e3 stuff that has been announced yesterday I cant figure why the boring ass activision games are picked as newsworthy.

Sony PS3 for $600 , Zelda on wii that takes advantage of new controller , etc

Just another example of how military technology eventually trickles down into the hands of consumers.

I could live without another Marvel game ever again, And Naughty America looks like ass (and not the good kind) I don't think E3 is missing much on that one.

On a side note new
MGS
Zelda
Armored Core
Ranbow 6
GTA
Final Fantasy
Forza
Halo

Oh shi- I just blew a load.

I thought that the new Nintendo was due to be called the Revolution? Maybe that's just in Europe... surreal
