Best. Vehicle Mod. EVER.

If you feel a little self conscious driving your 1988 Ford Escort to Toshi Station to pick up some power convereters, you're not alone. In fact, a man called Martin (who desperately needs a refesher course in post-1995 HTML) just sold a 1988 Ford Escort on eBay in the UK, which isn't anything to get excited about, until I dramatically insert an ellipsis . . . and tell you that it was modified to look like Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder. For a realistic look, it has not been done in a “factory fresh” style but made to reflect the idea that it has been in the desert and in use for decades. Right now there is some touch-up painting needed but otherwise it looks good. If you are into it, you can redo the interior dash to a better Landspeeder look and that should not take a lot of work if you do it yourself.

It has blue underlighting to give it the impression of floating, plus I have all the parts needed to put a vapor propane flame-thrower into the centre jet and had it in at one point. The 'speeder is street legal in California, and at just over USD13000, is an awesome way to arrive in style for the thirtieth anniversary screening of the original Star Wars next year.

The Landspeeder seats two, but let's not kid anyone, okay? If you buy this, we all know you're not going to have a date.
