Oblivion: Now With Topless Adventurers

Today, a mod made its way around the Internet that let Oblivion players remove the shirt from their female character. Save your high fives, though. The nerd responsible claims that he didn't do it out of love of hot, naked chicks, but because of his civic-minded duty. Listen to this shit:

"I do this because I hate government/society/whatever forcing companies to 'protect our innocent population from seeing those evil dirty things 50% of them posess personally anyways' not because I'm trying to turn it into a porn game."

Whether you call him a champion of nipple rights or a pervert, one thing is for sure: the future will remember the day the balance of power switched from government/society/whatever back to the people. It was the day DragonMike98 first saw the tits under his goblin wizard's +3 tunic.

See the mod in action and tear down the walls of oppression at gamevideos.com

Internet nerds: sticking it to the man one game at a time. Excuse me while I go fight the system and hack Nintendogs to include nudity.

F'real. Back in '96 when I was trying to get Lara Croft naked and she kept exploding? I was sticking it to the man then too.

I’m going to be really pissed off if easily modifiable games stop being made because the big publishers get afraid of being the next hot coffee guys.

Won't happen, because the whole issue with Hot Coffee was that, even though you had to hack the game to get to it, it was included on the original disc. Third-party mods aren't going anywhere.

I don't see how this helps or hurts anything. The idea that he's pissed about Governments/companies/whatever (i'm willing to bet "stuff" is included) telling people what they can and cannot see is fine. but you're just throwing in nudity to a game in which it was not designed or intended. That's like saying you are excersizing free speech when you insert porn images into Lord of the Rings.
That's not free speech, that's a violation of copyright. (unless of course you're only doing it to your own personal copy, for your personal use, in which case you're safe)

BTW, have you seen the video linked in the original post? Those boobs look like crap!
but i guess its still better than jerking off to WoW.

You, I, and anybody who spends an hour reading about the technical aspects of modding games know the difference. I don’t trust legislators to know the difference.
