Google + iTunes = Awesome

I don't know how long this Google feature has been around, but I just discovered it last night. If it's old news, bear with me, but no one I've shown it to knew about it.

Go to Google, type in a band name and the word discography (for instance, "White Stripes discography"). Click the first link that comes up, and you're presented with the band's discography and album cover art. Click an album, and you're presented with a track listing, complete with an option to by any of the tracks from the iTunes Music Store (or Napster, Sony Connect, or Real Rhapsody, but who the heck uses those services anyway?).

Pretty cool feature, if you ask me.

Yeah I first noticed this last night too, and it certainly wasn't the first time I looked up a band on Google. Must be new.

Oh, good. I was hoping this wasn't one of those things that had been around for months and I had just now noticed...

Actually Google used to. If you did a search like say "filetype:torrent white stripes + discography" you would find in the first page a healthy torrent of the discography. While it still lists links to torrents, the vast majority lead to no where.

Their was also a trick a while back where you could actually google into unsecured camera feeds from around the world and simply observe security cameras (or webcams). I have no idea if that has been altered or not.

if you're using a mac go download the Apple Script Amazon Lookup, you click on an album in itunes, run the script and it goes to amazon.com and pulls up matching albums with artwork. lot better than going to google and typing everything in!

I just discovered last night that Google can translate text. It's so much better than any of those shitty translate websites I have ever used before.

For those of you who have not been there:

Here it is!

Itunes is pretty much the way to go, i use rhapsody's 25 preview a month plan. You can listen to any song they have, all the way through, at high quality. You're just limited to 25 listens per month. I just use it to hear new stuff.
