I always wonder why there is so much research into gay males, but not gay females.

Because gay males are more offensive. Guys are supposed to be masculine-not taking it up the ass. Gay females are hot so no one cares LOL

My guess is because there's a lot less violence towards female homosexuals.

Additionally, the scientific community (mostly male and masculine) views lesbianism as somewhat ambigious, whereas dudes who do it with dudes MUST be in a definitive category. A woman can have sex with women and men aren't completely convinced of her sexuality. But any guy who has sex with men is most definitely, unequivocally, totally, completely gay...

That's pretty much the truth. Two girls are hot. Two guys are disgusting. I'm sorry, but I find that to be true. Call me a homophobe, but I just think that is disgusting. I don't mean to be oppressive towards gays, but that's just how I am. Don't get me wrong, I'm for gay rights, I just don't want to see that shit.

Why does it even matter if it's genetic or not? I find all of the research interesting but really, do we need to know it's genetic before we can give people their rights?

I also have seen pretty much no research about bisexuals but I suppose that's because they're all just slutty greedy experimental college girls and emo boys.

Clearly some scientific - or pseudo-scientific, whichever - understanding of homosexuality shouldn't and can't be a prerequisite for giving gay people all the rights heterosexual people have. But it's still kind of interesting.

i have had gay dudes in clubs and such, just roll up and be an asshole about it, grab your dick, shit like that. i NEVER heard of a gay chick rolling up and grabbing some strait chicks pussy. even my gay friends at one time or another have said things like "i wish you were gay..." and shit like that. like it's totally acceptable.
when was the last time you told a gay chick: "god, i wish you were strait so we could fuck"?

i am in no way defending violence toward anyone, gay bashing is awful, criminal, and in now was acceptable. this is all a seperate commente on the original post by alpha_hazard.
gay men flaunt it more, they play the victim more, and they feel the need to "blame" someone for (or rationalize) the choices they made. there are WAY more gay men who choose to advertise their gayness (drag queens, leather, pink hot paints, bars with super-gay names, etc) than any lesbian would.

if you were "born" like that, (which i can't say, i'm not gay), then why the overpowering need to identify yourself as such. sayiung you are a "gay man" seperates yourself, far more that others may seem to seperate you. if you want to be treaded equally, act like it. you are a MAN, not a gay man. your gayness is like my straitness, it's not what guides my life, it's automatic.

the money blown on this stupid-ass study could have gone towards AIDS Awairness, youth counsiling, and any number of other "gay" issues that would actually MATTER.

it's seems to matter to the gay community that they themselves are gay, far more than it matters to the non-gay communtiy that they (the gay community) are gay. far more.
