Human Cannonball Fired
Todd Christian, 26, lost his job as a human cannonball, because he is terrified of flying.
Todd injured his knee doing his stunt and his employers, the Cottle and Austen Circus, decided that he need specialist training in Brazil. Todd does not mind being shot 40ft above the circus at 60mph, but the thought of the long distance flight to Brazil sent him into a tail spin.
I know it sounds silly because Im a human cannonball, but I dont like long flights, and if Im on a plane for a long time I start to panic. They sacked me on the spot; I am devastated, he said yesterday from Scotland, where the circus is touring.
Todd is seeking compensation for unfair dismissal
Marnie Dock, who became the worlds first female cannonball at the age of 16 and is now Cottle and Austens expert cannon trainer, said that Mr Christian was dismissed for his own safety.
Will the Judge be able to keep a straight face during the court case?
