Shitty New Version of The Birds Planned

Showing that Hollywood doesn't know that some movies should just be left alone, a remake of the 1963 Hitchcock classic The Birds is planned.

It gets better. The production company behind this crime against cinema is headed by hackmeister Michael Bay, the asshat responsible for such pieces of shit as Armageddon and Pearl Harbor.

Filmmaker Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production label is in negotiations to make the update with producer Peter Guber though his Mandalay Pictures banner.

The new version would be based on the short story by Daphne Du Maurier, to which Universal owns the rights and which inspired Hitchcock's original movie.


Here's hoping that a big-ass flock of seagulls (or even just A Flock of Seagulls) comes swooping in to peck away at everyone responsible for this crap-fest.

I don't know, I'm a huge fan of Hitchcock, but this is one of the few movies I can see being remade and having it be better. I don't think the people they are having do it will make it better, but I think it could be if the right people got their hands on it. The special effects are so much better now than they were back then. The birds just look silly most of the time in that movie. I just pray they don't change the ending.

im still pissed they are remade the amittyville horror. given the newer one had a few good kicks was the only thing that saved it from being absolute crap.

Because then Hollywood would only be able to pilfer from Japanese horror movies, and even the Japanese version of Ring 2 sucked.
