What do you do when you're stuck in a liberal big city, or (worse) a college town, and there's no nearby honky-tonk where you can find yourself a hot redneck woman—or nowhere you can get your boot scoot on with an eligible young Cletus, if you are in fact a redneck woman yourself?

Do you hanker for a place where the band stage is protected by chicken wire and the owner says "We have both kinds of music here, country and western"?

Well, Billy-Joe and Lurlene, pine no longer. Redneck and Single is here for you. It's like an online honky-tonk, but without the drinkin', cussin' and fightin'. No, really, that's what they say.

(I hear that in the near future, Redneck and Single V2.0 will be in beta-testing, complete with online drinkin', cussin' and fightin'. But one redneck step at a time, folks.)

Wow. This is weird to me. I've been to most of the major cities in the southwest including L.A., Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, Las Vegas etc. and all throughout the southwest states in general...I've been to Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver and Boulder, and I now live in Seattle.

I'm not saying I've been everywhere, man, but I've been to alot of places and talked to alot of people who have been to alot more places and one thing I've learned is this : There Are Rednecks Everywhere.

I sorta thought they were like cockroaches in that regard, there may be slightly different species, but they exist in most parts of the world...point being, didn't think rednecks were that hard to find.

Oh well. Glad they got their own hook-up system now. Rednecks need love too. Or something.

we don't have rednecks in maine, we have hicks. rednecks are a specific subheading of hicks. in any case, I agree that there doesn't seem to be any great level of difficulty finding these people everywhere. I don't want to completely bash the small town country lifestyle, although, being a product of it, i find myself increadibly tempted. if anyone reading this is too sick of living in a pesky city occupied by cool smart people, drop me an email, we can work out some sort of exchange program. i assure you that there are a lot of idiots in maine.
