Giant Squid now take up more room on the planet than humans, according to a report in the Australian Science Journal.
Warm waters due to climate change, the decreases of their natural predators, and over fishing are thought to have contributed to the expanding squid population. They are also getting bigger in size as well as numbers.
So, how long until they start coming up on land to bark orders at us? They're bigger, slimier and grow faster than us. Like my friend says: I, for one, would like to be the first to welcome our new cephalopod masters.
