Pax: Your Small, Dark and Handsome Smoking Buddy

The Pax by Ploom is my favorite new way to, “smoke.” It is a loose-leaf vaporizer that is small enough to fit in your pocket. Powered by an internal lithium ion battery the device is butane free and holds an impressively long charge. I would guess you could get about 8 – 10 smoke sessions per hour long charging. The vaporizer heats up really fast, it was ready for use in about 30 seconds. The Pax has three adjustable heat settings and at the highest setting the device delivers the most full-bodied vapor hits I have ever gotten from a portable Vaporizer.

The Pax is also completely silent and virtually odorless which makes using it outside a movie theater or in a park fell pretty safe. Another really stand out feature of the Pax is it’s long, shallow herb chamber which makes the device very easy to fill and clean out between sessions.

I have smoked out of a couple different vaporizers in the past and have always felt a bit disappointed. Some of the things I enjoy the most about smoking are the texture of a joint in on my fingertips, the feel of it on my lips, and most importantly the way my lungs fill up with rich velvety smoke that escapes from my nostrils and mouth.

Before the Pax I had tried vaporizers with awkward hoses, noisy dispositions and cumbersome bags, all for tiny puffs of vapor that left me feeling frustrated, disenchanted and no where near high. Of all of the vaporizers I have tried the Pax delivers the fullest, richest, most smoke like hits of vapor. The Pax is simple to use, clean and charge. Modern, discrete, and beautiful with its cigar like shape and amazing build quality the device has the simplicity, fit and finish of an Apple product.

The bottom line is this is the best portable vaporizer I’ve ever used, and probably stands up against the very best non portable models as well. If you are considering a vaporizer, this is the one we at SG recommend you buy.

that charging sounds like a bitch! i have a magic flight launch box for my portable, it takes comes with two chargeable batteries, so you can charge one while using the other, plus you can buy as many batteries as you want. and i'd like to add that nothing touches the volcano for general vaporizers, and the bag really isn't anything i would call cumbersome. just fyi!

Actually it takes about 60 seconds to warm up, not 30. Which is still really decentsmile
Also, don't kid yourself about the smell, it is NOT "virtually odorless". It doesn't smell as strongly as a joint or pipe, but if you smoke it in the house, everyone else in the building will know. It's better for outdoor use.
That said I still love my pax! It's like an apple product. And the customer support is fantastic! Plus it comes with a 10 year warranty!!

While it is a good vaporizer, it is by far NOT the best. In fact, if you aren't super careful with the mouth piece, it will break and then you have a $250 paper weight. No fun. It also combusts to a degree, which defeats the purpose.

The Magic Flight Launch Box is the ONLY true portable vaporizer on the market, at $150. (Do your research) It's also harder to break, and also comes with two batteries, so you don't have to worry about waiting for it to charge.

I work with every vaporizer that is available, my family owns a head shop, and the Magic Flight is by far the best.

Don't believe me? Look it up. wink

I loved it at first but it's difficult to fully clean which is prob why within a month it jammed and now isn't usable. It won't pop back up and charge, however it now has some scratches from me trying to pry the top part back up so I highly doubt I could return. Basically I feel like I wasted a good deal of money.

Thought it was great initially the first time I used it at a friends place but there's a alot of combustion and the parts seem a little fiddly.

so i have one, and i love it. the charging isn't an issue, i just pop it on the charger before bed like i would with my phone. but i charge it after every 5 or 6 uses.

the vapor is nearly odorless. what's not is the machine. it smells a little when it initially heats up, but that dissipates.

my only complaint is that it's not really good for sharing. the size of the chamber makes it best for one to two people, which is fine by me, because it's for when i'm home alone, or we go to a movie or something. we have a volcano-style vaporizer at home too so it's not an issue for me.

i love that it's compact and discreet. with the mouthpiece down you wouldn't know what it was. i like that the channel goes straight from one end to the other, so there aren't any nooks and crannies to clean. as long as you clean it regularly there shouldn't be any issues. a little alcohol and a pipe cleaner...easy. it's a hefty investment for sure, but i love it.
