And Your Little Dog Toto, Too

A goth couple is being harassed by an asshat bus driver in England.

Dani Graves, of Thornhill, said he was once physically pushed off a bus by a driver who said he and his fiancee Tasha Maltby were not allowed to travel on the service.

According to Mr Graves, he said: "We don't let freaks and dogs like you on." Mr Graves, 25, said on December 8, he and Miss Maltby, 19, went to Dewsbury bus station to get an Arriva service to Thornhill.

According to Mr. Graves, the harassment has been ongoing:

But last Saturday, the couple tried to get on a bus at Dewsbury bus station, at about 10.25pm. The same driver was at the wheel and as they approached he shook his head.

The pair showed their passes and sat down on the bus but the driver refused to let any other passengers on until they got off.

Mr Graves and Miss Maltby refused to get off the bus but were eventually forced off after being threatened with police action. And on Monday, Mr Graves was waiting for a bus in Thornhill, this time alone. He said he held out his arm to flag it down, but the same driver smiled and drove past.

Mr Graves relies on the bus service as he does not drive and suffers from a circulation problem that means he cannot walk long distances in cold weather.

I'm just amazed anyone could discriminate against such a cute couple:

While the boyfriend does admit to leashing his girlfriend in public settings, the couple states that they always take the lead off before traveling on public transportation. Safety first, of course.

Let's just hope the bus company fires the asshole driver soon.

I think beer out the nose may sting more than Cola...maybe post a warning?

P.S. This is pretty cut and dried bullshit on the drivers part...it isn't his place to judge anyone....

"It is definitely discrimination, almost like a hate crime," 19-year-old Miss Maltby said yesterday.

Actually, she has a point. She could have made it a different way, but it is just as bad as any other form of discrimination, except discrimination against ginger kids.

I've had problems with my goth attire in my city. People like to try to start fights with me because they think that a skinny guy in eyeliner and a corset top is too girly to kick someone's ass (not the case. I carry a shillelagh, and I don't hesitate to use it). So I don't wear it unless I'm going out of town (which is more often than not), or there is a special occasion where I can get away with not looking "normal". Perhaps this fine couple could tone it down a bit... That's not to say that this bus driver isn't a giant douche, but that there is an easy way to end the vicious cycle until they can get that asshat fired.

I've always wanted to go up to a goth kid, hug them tightly, and say, "It's gonna be all right. The sun's gonna come out tomorrow. It's gonna be a beautiful day."

i think anyone from an actual minority group (not the kind of minority affiliation you buy at the mall, the kind you're born with and cant do anything about) might disagree.

at least her collar doesn't have her address, phone number and shots she's had. maybe they could spice it up a little bit with say a diamond studded collar or leash.

i don't understand being leashed in public. even worse is when i sittle parents who have their kids on a leash.
