Show Your Tits, Win $29,000!

It’s true ladies! That $29k can be yours as well! All you have to do is convince a New York City police officer to arrest you for unleashing your bazoooms. Then sit back and let the money come rolling in.

Jill Coccaro, 27, was arrested on a topless stroll two years ago, despite a 1992 state appeals court ruling that concluded women should have the same right as men to take off their shirts.
Coccaro, who now goes by the name Phoenix Feeley, remained in custody for 12 hours before she was told prosecutors were not going to pursue charges.
Her attorney, Jeffrey Rothman, told the Daily News that his client won the civil rights settlement from the city, which did not admit or deny wrongdoing.
"We hope the police learn a lesson and respect the rights of women to go topless," Rothman said.

A-fucking-men, Jeffrey.

Caccaro, who must be the only person left in America without a blog, alleges that she was mistreated in the 12 hours she was detained. She said police dragged her out of the police car by their hair and put her through a psychological evaluation. But getting her kit off is nothing new to Ms. Caccaro/Feeley.

She told the newspaper she had gone bare-breasted after running the 2004 city marathon without police bothering her.
"I've always just felt that was something natural," Feeley said of going topless. "I've kind of always done it out of practicality."

While I’ve never really felt like practicality was an obvious reason for bare breasts, I’m in no position to argue. And neither is the city of New York, after the aforementioned case of People v. Santorelli. In that case, the Court of Appeals (New York’s highest court) found that the criminalization of mere exposure of specific parts of a woman’s breast could not sustain equal protection review. That’s a fancy lawyer way of saying that it is totally cool if you’re in NY and you’d like to get naked, like now. (Please)

Oh, and because I know you pervs want to know, Phoenix Feeley looks like this:

I loved it!

People need to learn to mind their own business. If somebody wants to go naked, whoop-tee-doo, it's their body, not yours. If you don't want to see it, last I checked, you have control over your own eyesight- so look elsewhere. smile I'm so sick of "laws" being enacted to try to convince people that doing "X" is wrong because so-and-so says so.

Toplessness in NY is actually pretty common, especially in the parks and beaches. My wife and I used to see the same topless woman when we would go to the beach every summer and she was easily in her eighties.

Of course there was always the beautiful Europeans splashing in the waves topless and playing volleyball.

No big deal really, and yet, total and absolute paradise. smile

-------it's legal in columbus ohio as well...although, the only time you're likely to see it is at comfest (community festival) or the pride parade.

Man, I'd happily go topless in public but I have never once found myself in any kind of situation where it's more practical to take my top off than keep it on.
Running for the bus? No thanks.
Frozen produce aisle? No way.
Dress down at work? Ehhh...no.

You'll need it to get the boobs first.

It's only in NY. Get over it. Some of us like clothes. And aren't dirty hippies.

Ugh. My cornflakes taste like piss now. Thanks.

$29,000 doesn't come close to the amount I've spent over the years in "Gentlemen's Clubs" and on internet pornography.

Give the lady a medal. This pioneer is clearly the Rosa Parks of the Topless Movement.

maxi did a group of photos where she was naked in new york. She was saying that the cops were there for some shots, but she only got bothered about staying in cross walks and the street too long.
