Jesus Loves You (and Wants You to Kill for Him)

That's right, Bible students: this little light of mine...is going to blow the non-Christian enemy to bits! Want to join in the fun and faith? Be a good little Holy Warrior and place your order for toys and gear in the "Soldier of God" product line via the Oriental Trading Company's call center.

You'd rather order your camo and crucifix adorned crusader shield, military-style dog tags, combat wrist bands, canteens, baseball hats, temporary face tattoos, and crusader knight sword online? Sorry, but the product line, which has been available for almost a year, now, has finally started to stir up enough controversy that it's been removed from the company site.

What's all the fuss about? Is there something wrong with indoctrinating children for war? The earlier the better, right!? The younger God's army, the longer they'll have to fight for glory! Smile little fighters, this is Jesus' Jihad, and the big guy loves you!

I wonder if God enjoys watching people kill in his name?

Looks like hunter gear to me. Nothing like priming up your kids to kill animals and/or people.

I'm sorry, but what was this trying to teach our kids?
That God wants people to die.

This reminds me of the palestinian and the israeli war going on.

Jihad against Israel?

Soldier of god....
God against Jihad?

Great, get religion involved in another war again.

God doesn't watch the news, so whenever people killing in his name are on, he changes to ESPN.

That's why the Cavs is in the Finals

And enter why orgnized religion SUCKS. I'm still kinda lost as to where all these radials get the idea that their religion tells them to kill non-believers. Anybody else watch Stargate SG-1? Could it be that the Ori theme has to do with current (and the last 5000years) events?
What I really don't get is that pretty much every religion tries to teach it's follower's the same thing - don't be an asshole to each other, yet that kinda gets lost in all the guilt-tripping and political agendas.
The other thing that dumbfounds me is that it's GOD we're talking about. Call this whatever you want- Alla, God, the Almighty, the great Spirit, the supreme being....whatever...it's all the same thing.

My favorite line from a TV show is "God is like a sandstorm, you look too hard and you get sand in your eye, but there are plenty of ways to know he's there anyway"...

Soldier of god - Ooorah! surreal

ESPN is infinitely more interesting than the news most of the time.

Welcome to 20th century groupthink. I'm sure the "spirituality" you cobble together will be much better. Be sure and clue us in on what your inner voice tells you, ok? Feel free to send dream catchers and crystals in the mail for our benefit.

What the fuck are you talking about? I'm just curious, because you automatically assume that because I don't find spirituality in a church that I'm some gimmicky mail order whacko. Pardon me, your self-righteousness, for finding that I'm closer to god when I'm in the mountains in nature's cathedral than I am sitting on a pew with a minister preaching at me. Now, I happen to attend a church occasionally because I really enjoy what our particular priest has to say- he's not preachy at all, and he has an uncanny ability to tie science and christianity together.
I'm sure that the spirituality that I cobble together won't be responsible one bit for millions of innocents being slaughtered over the next 5000 years, you know why? Because it's MY spirituality and I don't feel the need to share it with anyone else unless they ask for it, and even then, they'll find that there isn't much to share, as it's my own thing, and it might not fit their ideas of spirituality.
And if you happened to read the rest of my previous statement, you'd understand all this. There's an old saying that goes "many roads lead to the great path, you may follow any"...I think it makes perfect sense.

So piss off you judgmental self-righteous prick, I don't tell you what to do with your spirituality, so don't you dare try to tell me what to do with mine.

Too much "holy" in the water I think...
Jesus Camp was the exact thing I thought of when I saw the picture of the kid...
