A Look Inside British Mosques

Tags: islam, uk, jihad

On July 7, 2005, Muslims in the UK blew themselves up in a series of bombings across London mass transit systems during rush hour. The attack killed 52 London commuters and maimed hundreds of others. Like similar attacks in Israel, Chechnya, Bali, Thailand and Indian Kashmir, the attackers proclaimed in suicide messages that they were acting in the name of Allah.

The British were surprised to learn that the perpetrators of these bombings were UK native muslims, who had for the most part grown up and prayed at local mosques. Recently Channel 4's Dispatches investigated what was being taught at these Mosques, and this is their report:

Interesting editing job.

I imagine if I were a muslim who found living in the heathen west so offensive, I'd move to the motherland of the religion. But then, western ultra-conservative politicians don't move to Iran, because Iran is not home.

Personally, I figure people can say whatever they want, as long as they don't cause any lasting harm. Talking about killing people would qualify, but it was the undercover reporter that shared that talk with the nation. I don't agree with some of what is said, but I'm not going to argue about it.

It doesn't matter what anyone believes. It's the people that act on those beliefs that get noticed, positively or negatively. The jihad won't surprise me. Since when has mankind not attacked itself over different ideas and beliefs?

I do believe that most Muslims are not like this however at the same time I don't understand why we don't hear more Muslims speaking out against it. I don't know if it is they are scared, don't care, or are doing it but no one is reporting on it.

There isn't a lot we can do looking in other then try to contain. The only way anything will ever change is if the moderate Muslims do something.

I only saw a few minutes of the video, but there were at least three things said that are illegal here in Britain. Are these guys already being prosecuted, or should I report it to the police? (yes, I know it's strange to report a crime that has already been shown on national television.)
