Secret Photoshop Agent and resident Fashion Icon zoetica often has the staff at SGHQ asking, "What's Zo wearing?" Her unique and eccentric style is a rallying call to those who suffer from mainstream malaise. Each week, she tells us how she's combined ordinary items to create her extraordinary look. Undaunted by unusual combinations, "What's Zo Wearing" is SG's answer to middle-of-the-road makeover shows.

I wander empty corridors awaiting my next mission, impatiently fiddling with a beloved pocket watch case around my neck. A long coat flies behind with each sharp pirouette. Heels click out a vehement rhythm as i ready myself for what is to come. Records Chief Yoon documents.
Classic wool, cotton, lace and brass construct this uniform. I'm often reserved with color in my wardrobe, and this time is no exception. Incorporating pieces in patterns and fabrics most often seen in menswear*, adding heeled boots, a soft button-down top and lace tights makes this outfit both masculine and feminine, with a military slant. I'm very fond of this particular look and, in general, shades of brown and grey together.
When Ian anything tailored enthusiastcame across this coat in a thrift shop some time ago, I could hardly believe my fortune. Thrifting has become sort of a complex art, especially here in Los Angeles. Thanks to the retro explosion vendors these days are especially aware of the value of kitsch, and everything appears heinously overpriced as a result. All hope isn't lost, but one must be willing to venture outside familiar areas and dig, dammit.
Coat - $30 at nameless Denver thrift store
Vest - $13 Ross

Buckle boots - $30 Forever 21

*a very special edition of WZW for you next week, my dear squidlings.
Zoetica Ebb is a painter, SG style technician, make up artist, alt. model, photgrapher & occasional cosmonomad. Born in Moscow, Russia, she was raised by a troup of gypsy scientists from space, who coldly sold her to an American technological research facility in 1992. After a daring escape, she graduated from the LA County High School for the Arts, retreated into the rumored underground atelier where she studied with the much-revered fashion guru Madame Von Kuntzertag, followed by a brief stint at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She's traveled the world, gathering fashion expertise and is thrice certified as official Finesse Monitor to the Khan throne.
