Most of the remaining SuicideGirls Burlesque Dates have been cancelled. SG sincerely apologizes for the disappointment and inconvenience. Full refunds will be made at each of the venues, and SG is working to reschedule all of the cancelled shows for mid-January, beginning January 17.

The cancelled dates and locations:

    Marquee Theatre

    November 14, 2006
    San Diego, CA
    Brick by Brick

The SG Burlesque Troupe has been invited to open for Guns n' Roses, and they simply couldn't turn Axl down (it must be the hair). This is a very exciting opportunity for the girls, who will be performing for enormous audiences. Please wish them well, check them out with Guns n' Roses, and look for rescheduled Burlesque dates in mid-January.

Again, arranging a cab, arranging a babysitter, and getting the night of work isn't exactly "rearranging your life". Or at least that is WAY too melodramatic a phrase for it!

Oh noes! You had to cancel that cab and babysitter and go to work!

I pretty much agree with everyone like you who is saying that people are overreacting about this, but I think Apes was pointing out that for people in wheelchairs, a lot of work is involved in planning these things, and that shouldn't be laughed off.

That is true. In that case, it sucks that the show was cancelled.

I'm really just glad we're on the next page and the Page of Overreactions is behind us.

Basically. I'm just saying that for different people with different lives and lifestyles making plans to do something like this isn't just a whim and might involve a singnificant time investment and in the case of people asking off work might involve calling in favors or making commitments to cover for someone else in return. There's more involved for some people than the simple decision to go to the show and a couple of bucks.

Several people commented on the first couple of pages that they came into this thread expecting to see that one of the performers had been injured. I did the same. Now, I don't think that we're particularly morbid people or anything, just that there's an assumption that if plans get canceled on you like this there'd better be a pretty good reason. And really, I can't think of too many good reasons (other than health and family related) to inconvenience people.

Now, I've said my piece. I got to see the show I went to, so I'm not really emotionally invested in people who got screwed, but I'm not so blind as to think that it isn't a real hastle for some people. But really, the inconvenience for people who got canceled on is the least of the problems I have with this decision.
