Run, Lola, Run Director’s New Movie: PERFUME

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1 2006 10:00 AM

Tom Tywker’s film, Run, Lola, Run, was a big hit in the United States (for a foreign film anyway), and made Franka Potente a much beloved icon here at SuicideGirls.

Tywker’s new movie, Perfume - The Story of a Murderer, will be released on December 27, 2006.

Perfume is based on the bestselling novel by Patrick Süskind. It is set in 18th century France and tells the story of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille who used his unique talent for discerning the scents and smells that swirl around him to create the world's finest perfumes. Now he is trying to capture the irresistible but elusive aroma of young womanhood, traveling far and delving deeper into the intricate science of perfume-making. As he becomes increasingly – and recklessly – passionate about his art, his obsession to create the world's most powerful fragrance takes a deadly turn.

Paramount has been kind enough to grace SuicideGirls with a heretofore unseen poster for Perfume.

Check out the official website for the movie.

It's nice to see that they've taken so many different approaches to posters for this film. It warms the tiny speck of my heart that still enjoys graphic design.
This one is my favourite::

Oh yeah, and after waiting more than a year to see this film I am about ready to explode. December better come fast.

So the trailer looks pretty good. It's quite simplified, in the book-to-film way, but not horribly distorted. I hope they keep the ending the same.

Wow, I didn't know this poster but it's perfectly matching the movie!!

"The Perfume" was released in early October in France, I loved the book, and the movie too, because the movie respected the book but is its own art, with its imagery... You MUST see it!!

(PS : The end has been kept the same wink)

I can't wait for Perfume to come out. The Princess and the Warrior is my fave movie ever. Anticipation for this and Pan's Labyrinth keep me getting out of bed in the morning smile I really hope they kept in all the scenes of perfume making and scent extraction, and didn't make it into some lame serial killer flick!

As I've said in another thread on this movie, all you need to say is "Alan Rickman" and you've sold me a ticket. Saying "Dustin Hoffman" just means you've sold me another ticket.
