Corny Crop Art

Make, a magazine "devoted entirely to DIY technology", keeps an interesting and frequently updated blog of user projects, technology news and how-to's. Recently, they posted an image of a drawing that can only be viewed from the sky; it's "Raijin (God of Thunder) made from different varieties of rice."

Seeing it reminded me of what we can look forward to in the fall months wherever corn grows. Ever been to a corn maze? They not only rule in fun, but are pretty awesome works of art in and of themselves.

There's also the kind of "crop art" that one makes by gluing different seeds onto a canvas. There's a magnificent exhibit every year at the Minnesota State Fair. Haven't missed it in 14 years.

Well at least no one's blaming this on aliens.
