Wireless giant T-Mobile, which is responsible for those irritating commercials that ALWAYS seem to be on, is yanking their ads from FX to protest the graphic scenes on shows such "Rescue Me" and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

The move comes at the behest of CEO Robert Dotson, who is responding to complaints by the American Family Association about FX's subject matter.

The CEO pledged to immediately withdraw T-Mobile ads from all FX programs pending further review, and vowed T-Mobile "will not support programming or content offerings that are sexually gratuitous and explicit, racist, hateful or excessively violent."

This from the company that a couple years ago used Snoop Dogg and Paris Hilton to shill their Sidekick product.

Conversely, we can expect a ratings jump for FX shows from a grateful, T-Mobile ad-free viewing public.

I have Cingular (which is funny in and of itself since I work @Verizon) so I could give a rat's arse about T-Mobile.

I used to work for DirecTV, but had Comcast.

Whatever, it's their money. Those shows are great, though.

T-Mobile is not that bad. Don't let some conservative idiots sway your opinion.

I had T-Mobile for a few years. Their coverage wasn't the greatest, but their pricing was pretty competitive. At least I never paid for roaming.

Sadly, their support for PDA phones was less than stellar. Only one OS upgrade for the T-Mobile 2002/2003 phone (and that didn't even work--causing calls to drop--they pulled it). Then, their next HP product stopped production due to other problems.

I have no idea how their new PDA device is shaping up (and I don't care).

At least I can roam with Sprint now. Two-hundred minutes in my monthly plan can be used for roaming. And with EV-DO, I have much, much faster e-mail and web access than GSDM in major metro areas (and I don't even have to pay for a fancy browser). I have the latest Microsoft mobile operating system. And I have evenings on my plan now (and one-hundred extra minutes. . .and a discount from my contracting entity). . .all for almost $10 less than what I was paying /w T-Mobile.

Sigh. You know I'll be changing carriers after two years. Come on. We're talking about cell phones here, people. wink

Isn't bending over to an organization that espouses hate against homosexuals sort of hypocritical? Sorry, I guess they don't "hate" them - they just label them as abnormal and predatory.

And nice that this guy lumped "gratuitous" sex together with racism, hate, and violence. Ignorant fuck.

If T-mobile stops showing their ads on FX, then I might start actually watching FX, to avoid seeing those fucking annoying commercials! mad

I will be totally inconsolable if T-Mobile is able to fuck it up in any way.
