Who Knew Swimsuits Could Be "Wholesome" and Scary at the Same Time?

Ever wanted to turn heads at the beach? Ever wanted to look like a jackass and make your kids hate you for dressing them for summer? If so, check out Wholesome Wear's line of swim wear.

Fellow SG Editor Legionnaire sent this article to me about these "wholesome" swimsuits for "modest ladies."

Wholesome Wear's mission statement stresses the importance of "swimwear that highlights the face, rather than the body." The construction of the outfits intentionally "includes an undergarment with bright colors at the neck and shoulders to draw the eye to the face."

Somehow, it seems if eyes are drawn to the face of the wearer, it's only a spectator mentally recording the face of the lunatic who would wear something resembling a cropped snowsuit on a hot day at the beach.

If those looked more like the turn of the century swimwear I'd totally buy one.

As it is, why is it so bad to reveal your body and have people look at it while you're swimming, but perfectly fine to want people to look at your face? Why is having a beautiful body so sinful, but having a beautiful face considered wonderful?

because in the future, all sex will be in the fase.

I'M THERE!!!

I can understand that some people may not feel comfortable in a teeny tiny bikini for whatever reason. But there are plenty of one piece or boy short/tankini swimsuits out there that you're not hanging out of. Those things look like they'd be hot, not to mention ugly, and I doubt you could swim in them. In which case, why go to the beach or swimming at all?

Yeah, like, modern swimwear is designed to be a minimal hinderance when you're swimming, not so people can check you out.. Not bikinis or things like that, obviously, but your average one piece suit that's made for actually swimming and not tanning or lounging around on the beach. There are also clothing items designed to go over one's sinfully tight swimsuit like sarongs and, oh, I don't know, A GODDAMN T-SHIRT, perhaps... There are plenty of things one can wear over their body shape revealing swimwear if they're not comfortable with their body, which many females aren't, and as such there are a lot of items designed for this purpose.

Also, I believe the word "tankini" is an abomination unto Nuggan, as well as being just plain stupid.

I fucking hate bikinis.

What? They don't make them for men!

Sexists.

I don't want women thinking "thoughts" about me at the beach. How awful!

Oh, and Al... your mission should you choose to accept it is to find one of these things for a forthcoming beach shoot. I know how much of a beach person you are.

Okay, now, those actually look really cool, as opposed to the other things, which look like peasant dresses made out of wet suits.
