"The postal services are sorry to annouce you that your mail has been delayed" - Evelyn Greenawald, 97, must have received a note like that tagging along with her 27-year "delayed postcard".
ANAMOSA, Iowa - Evelyn Greenawald received last week a postcard from her daughter in Germany 27 years after it was mailed.
At the time, her daughter Sheri was beginning her opera career in Germany. Sheri had sent a postcard telling her mother how she fell in love with Europe, that she would be in Paris soon and to "keep in touch."
The postcard's late arrival gives new meaning to 'snail mail'.
