Owen Wilson Hospitalized For Self-Inflicted Injuries

Actor, funny man, and general broken-nose superhero Owen Wilson was discovered by his brother, Luke, after he had apparently cut both of his wrists and taken an un-tallied number of pills*.

Wilson was rushed to St. Johns Hospital in Los Angeles after 12:10pm on August 26th, 2007.

Luke Wilson, Owen's brother, was seen leaving Beverly Hills' Cedars Sinai Hospital with his brother Andrew at 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, According to Entertainment Tonight. Andrew was the one who found Owen, according to published reports.

TMZ reports that the Santa Monica Police released the following statement, "On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12:10 pm officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department. The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated."



Wilson was later transferred to Cedars Sinai, where he was reported to be in a stable condition.

Wilson was then transferred by ambulance to another LA hospital, the Cedars Sinai, around 9am (4pm Sunday, local time) where his condition was initially listed as "grim". He has since stabilised.

Owen's brother, Luke, was seen leaving the Cedars Sinai in a BMW with a blond friend several hours after Owen was transferred, Entertainment Tonight reported.



*It should be noted that this has not yet been confirmed as an attempted suicide:

National Enquirer editor-in-chief David Perel told gossip website PerezHilton.com that Owen's brother Andrew "found him after the suicide attempt and called an ambulance".

"Both of Owen's wrists were slashed superficially and Owen had taken an overdose of pills.

"Owen was found with a nearly empty bottle of pills next to him."


UPDATE: Owen just released this statement to TMZ:

"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

And I'd like to think that a lot of the people around here are beyond high school and OMG DID YOU HEAR WHAT SO AND SO DID OMG THEY ARE SO MESSED UP I BET HE DID IT CUZ HIS GIRLFRIEND SLEPT WITH THE QUARTERBACK LOL

As far as military installations go, most people I know in the military would be more likely to try their hardest to help their comrades than in average society.

What I was saying was, why does it matter more when a celebrity does it? Why does he get sympathy? There are poor people who can not afford to even go to hospitals, and get the help that they need. But where is the sympathy for them? I'm not specifically talking about this incident here, it's a culmination of things that I've seen across various forums recently. Poor people when they kill themselves, or try, it's "Oh well. Blaim the parents." But when a celebrity does it it's special.

But he has money, and has made us all laugh. Let's care.



You're kind of an asshole. I'm sure most of us WOULD care if there were more stories of regular folks killing themselves, but there aren't because they're NOT FUCKING FAMOUS. How hard is that to understand?
