Owen Wilson Hospitalized For Self-Inflicted Injuries

Actor, funny man, and general broken-nose superhero Owen Wilson was discovered by his brother, Luke, after he had apparently cut both of his wrists and taken an un-tallied number of pills*.

Wilson was rushed to St. Johns Hospital in Los Angeles after 12:10pm on August 26th, 2007.

Luke Wilson, Owen's brother, was seen leaving Beverly Hills' Cedars Sinai Hospital with his brother Andrew at 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, According to Entertainment Tonight. Andrew was the one who found Owen, according to published reports.

TMZ reports that the Santa Monica Police released the following statement, "On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12:10 pm officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department. The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated."



Wilson was later transferred to Cedars Sinai, where he was reported to be in a stable condition.

Wilson was then transferred by ambulance to another LA hospital, the Cedars Sinai, around 9am (4pm Sunday, local time) where his condition was initially listed as "grim". He has since stabilised.

Owen's brother, Luke, was seen leaving the Cedars Sinai in a BMW with a blond friend several hours after Owen was transferred, Entertainment Tonight reported.



*It should be noted that this has not yet been confirmed as an attempted suicide:

National Enquirer editor-in-chief David Perel told gossip website PerezHilton.com that Owen's brother Andrew "found him after the suicide attempt and called an ambulance".

"Both of Owen's wrists were slashed superficially and Owen had taken an overdose of pills.

"Owen was found with a nearly empty bottle of pills next to him."


UPDATE: Owen just released this statement to TMZ:

"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

That sucks. I feel bad for the guy.. how horrible would it be if this were you, and every blog/newspaper/station announced to the world that you had attempted suicide. Is that really something you'd want the world to know? God can you imagine having to walk down the street and the paparazzi, people you don't even know, asking you if it was true? I hope he gets the help he needs, and everyone who doesn't belong in his business leaves him alone so he can get it. frown

I'm sorry you're bitter and jealous of his success, but as has been stated previously in this thread, money does not buy happiness, and anyone who assumes that someone who has a lot of money should therefore always be happy and care-free is shallow and naive.

Taking pills and superficially cutting his wrists... I wouldn't really call it an attempt... that never gets the job done, and at his age, he should know that.
