Patty Hearst Feels for Paris (Hilton's Cellmates)

If ever there was a socialite who knew the trials and tribulations of jail time, it's Patty Hearst. The publishing heiress, granddaughter of
William Randolph Hearst, spent twenty-two months in prison in the late 70s for armed robbery and use of a firearm to commit a felony during her involvement with the Symbionese Liberation Army. Some say she was brainwashed by the SLA, the terrorist revolutionary group who kidnapped her when she was 19. Others believe she suffered from Stockholm Syndrome. Either way, Patty Hearst is something of an American cult figure, and now she's weighing in on the impending prison time for fellow heiress Paris Hilton, who's really more of an American, um, stick figure.

Apparently Hearst is terrorizing Hilton through the
written word via TMZ:

...my heart goes out to the inmates of the Century Regional Detention Center. Forty-five days with Paris Hilton and the attendant publicity seems like cruel and unusual punishment to me. Perhaps THEY should be petitioning the Governor for relief?

That's some pretty hardcore virtual heiress bitchslapping. I like to imagine that Hearst sent the note not via email, but rather as individually clipped letters from newspapers and magazines, pasted sloppily onto the page.

I'm assuming that, as is the case in Illinois, those "regional detention centres" (we call them "county jails") hold people who are sentenced for less than 12 months AND people who are awaiting trial. If that's the case, the inmates who are awaiting trial should be released... They haven't even been found guilty of anything.

Imagining Paris Hilton being violated by a hardcore butch gang in a seedy prison like any other prison rookie makes me think that this could possibly be her only chance in life to actually learn what pain is and maybe she would even end up meditating on the unfathomable depth of her total uselessness on this planet for at least one full minute eeek

I think its fucked up that she was allowed to hav her time cut in half. She of all people needs to learn a lesson about drunk driving and partying, after all she sets an example for a lot of youngsters. I hope they give her hell in there.

I don't know what made me laugh more, the quote from Patty Hearst or that pic of Paris Hilton. And I heard they cut her sentence in half.

yea, have fun in jail Paris.

speaking of the SLA, did that Kathleen Soliah (or whatever her name was) ever have to do jail time? I remember them busting her (some thirty-five years after the fact) but what was the outcome?

Well, and I can't believe that showing up for her latest court date counts as credit toward sentence-reducing "good behavior." I kind of thought that showing up for court was just kind of requisite.
