Nirvana fans, save your pennies. Courtney Love is ready to part with nearly all of Kurt Cobain's belongings.

According to this story, Love plans to offer Cobain's possessions to the world through a large Christie's auction.

"(My house) is like a mausoleum. My daughter doesn't need to inherit a giant ... bag full of flannel ... shirts. A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to `(Smells Like) Teen Spirit' — that's what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we'll just ... sell."


Perhaps Courtney needs help settling that overdue rehab clinic debt. No date has been set for the auction, but Love promises that "a bunch" of the proceeds will go to charity.

Sad. I just got back from Seattle and I was very surprised how little the EMP had of Kurt's things there. This explains why. She's always been an opportunist, now she's found out how to get more from Kurt even after he's dead.
