Hummers are not designed for street use and using them for that, especially in light of the screwed up energy problems of the world (which of course is exactly why so many less selfish - or perhaps just poor - folks drive economy cars) reflects an inherent contempt (okay, maybe just indifference, but it all amounts to the same thing, doesn't it?) for our environment and our children.

Incidentally, I didn't know he's a Bush supporter. I never really paid much attention to them other than playing a song I think is called "Serenity" on an acoustic guitar with members of a Spiritual Drum Circle a couple times.

Also, there's a Democrat in these parts who drives one (also poorly).

poor lady. sometimes i see a big wreck on the road and when I'm close enough I discover that it's a fuckin SUV wreck. That's about the time I stop caring.

Also, no one else to be saying it because it doesn't matter here at all-- Godsmack is an awful band.

I'm aware of several unfortunate large SUV/Hummer accidents.

The brakes on large SUV's come at a cost -- sometimes as much as $2,500 for front and rear.

And you can bet many SUV driver's cut corners (illegaly) on this cost.

A high profile actress is being sued for a similar accident which killed the woman whom she rear-ended with her Highway Tank (err .. SUV) .. and I can only hope that Sully faces a suit if he was negligent or chose to put cheap brakes on his SUV.
