Eddie Van Halen Enters Rehab

TMZ reported today that Eddie Van Halen has checked into rehab for alcohol abuse, suggesting that the already postponed Van Halen reunion is further from fruition than orginally thought.

A message from the guitar-god himself:

I would like Van Halen fans to know how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you. Without you there is no Van Halen.

I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That's why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110% that I feel I owe you and want to give you.

Some of the issues surrounding the 2007 Van Halen tour are within my ability to change and some are not. As far as my rehab is concerned, it is within my ability to change and change for the better. I want you to know that is exactly what I'm doing, so that I may continue to give you the very best I am capable of.

I look forward to seeing you in the future better than ever and I thank you with all my heart.

too bad there is no rehab for being an asshole. accoding to EVH Michael Anthony cant be part of the reunion because he cant be in 2 bands at once, so his son wolfgang is going to play bass. fuck EVH its only a reunion if all the members are present.

i agree , I want to see a real reunion tour. If they want to do it do it right. Michael Anthony is no less a member than David lee Roth. Who wants to see Eddies son play bass , sure as hell ain't me. Get help Eddie and say hey to Britney ... maybe she can do micheals back-up vocals.

I still love these fuckups, no matter what, but for christ's sake! David Lee Roth is clearly a pompous asshole. On stage-genious, on the radio-train wreck. Eddie made gigantic goddamn fool out of himself at Dimebag's funeral. It's not cool to talk about how much of a whore Val was at a fucking wake, dude! Fuck drinking, how 'bout all the powder Ed? I'm bummed. Back in the day, for reasons I cannot fathom, I passed up the chance to see VH and went to a Police show instead. Now I'm left with no Van Halen tour but the fucking Police are back (yech!). Although maybe VH could get Ace Frehley as their lead guitarist!
