Linkin Park Fan Allegedly Hacked Into Singer's Phone

A crazed Linkin Park fan found herself in the slammer after hacking into singer Chester Bennington’s email and cell phone accounts. Devon Townsend probably now regrets listening to “Numb” hundreds of times while whacking-off over a photo of Bennington (Ok, I made that up, but you know she most likely did some dumb shit like that). Anyhoo, police arrested the Albuquerque, NM woman last weekend, claiming she used her work computer at Sandia National Laboratories, a national security support center, to gain access to private cell phone records of Bennington. Townsend also used the same computer to access the email account of Bennington’s wife.

Court documents allege that Townsend obtained personal phone numbers that Bennington had called and pictures he had taken with his camera phone. Authorities believe she also hacked into the e-mail account of Bennington's wife, Talinda, a former Playboy model, and has made threatening phone calls to her.

Talinda Bennington reported the security breach on the couple's Verizon Wireless online account last month, saying that she was worried about a "stalker," according to a federal affadavit. Police traced the activity to Townsend, who admitted to the online hacking and the threatening calls, the affadavit states. A search of Townsend's house then turned up Linkin Park memorabilia.

Bennington’s reps declined to comment on the crazy broad.

Uhhhh... how DO you pronounce Lincoln?

Do you pronounce it phonetically? Like LIN- koln?

Uhhhh... dude, that's a litlte off.

I'm pretty sure "Linkin" is the way to pronounce it.

I was thinkin' (or is that thincoln?) the same thing. You too seem to feel the need to comment on all the stuff that seems odd. Must be something in the Philadelphia (my birthplace) air.

I thought the story was talking about the singer for SYL too! Spelling's different though.
Yeah, it should be a crime to own or play that band's CDs. Not surprised this happened in NM. Who said the wife was arm candy? Scary...

The majority of people who use apostrophes don't even fully understand where they are supposed to go!!! This makes me very emotional....

The majority of people who actually read this then bothered to moan about apostrophes and where or where not they should go really need to chill....ohh sorry....that was just you

Yeah...I can't really think of another way to pronounce "lincoln/linkin" either....but anyways, I actually like Linkin Park. They're pretty cheesy but that's part of their appeal in my eyes. Yay for crazy stalker chicks for consistantly providing me with entertainment

What's the difference? Unless you were enunciating the hell out of the "L" in Lincoln.

Wait, maybe they want it to be Lin-kin, instead of Link-in. That's retarded, if so.

Um, and she didn't really "hack" into his accounts. She abused access privileges. No hacking required.

So I'm not the only one who saw the title and said, "Obsessive Linkin Park fan that can hack? That's unpossible." Excellent.

Linkin Park's second brush with a federal gov't. I recall the Romanian Health & Consumer Protection Ministry using a Meteora track's instrumental breakdown in a PSA.
