"Girls Gone Wild" Asshole Pleads Guilty

Joe Francis, raging douchebag and founder of the “Girls Gone Wild” empire, plead guilty to charges he and his company video taped underage girls. Francis acknowledged he did not maintain proper age and identity documents for each girl who performed for his camera. Although Francis will not spend any time in jail for the offenses, the court fines come directly out of Francis’ pocket.

GGW founder Joe Francis, along with related his related companies, Mantra Films Inc. and MRA Holding LLC, agreed to pay the government a total of $2.1 million in fines and restitution, however only $500,000 will be paid by Francis himself.

Francis showed regret for footage depicting underage girls involved in "sexually explicit conduct" in two of his “Girls Gone Wild” DVDs.

"Mantra Films, Inc., MRA Holdings Inc. and I admit that during 2002 and at times in 2003, we produced and distributed videos without obtaining the required records or attaching appropriate labeling," Francis said in a statement.

This is a landmark ruling; Francis was the first person to be successfully prosecuted under new federal laws requiring adult filmmakers to keep detailed records documenting age of participants in their films.

The charges in this case are believed to be the first to be filed under a law -- often referred to as Section 2257 -- passed by Congress to prevent the sexual exploitation of children. The law protects against the use of minors in the production of sexually explicit material by requiring producers to create and maintain age and identity records for every performer in sexually explicit movies and other media.

Nice hair.

Has anyone read this article? Just throwing that out there.

All in all, I agree with the general sentiment of "Francis is a douche, but this is the wrong law to penalize him under." That said, he's a fucking douche. Of doom. Doom Douche.

I love how people who subscribe to porn site can be all high and mighty against a porn site producer!!!

The fact that this law is another erosion of personal freedoms and privacy for consenting Americans and that no one is complaining, baffles me.

yeah, I don't get it either.
drastic enforcement of the law on certain people just because you don't like someone...what the fuck is that all about?

that's like me cheering for dave mathews getting busted for tax evasion, and then hoping he dies, (similar to some comments in this thread) just because I think he makes douchey music for douchey people.

I would say that your example is more a case of schadenfreude than being as wonderfully ironic as cheering the busting of a pornographer on a porn site. Mind you in this case the guy was technically a child pornographer so maybe it's okay to cheer his misfortune.

Nah it's probably just a basic human feeling that holds that double negatives make a positive isn't just a math thing. You know (bad thing)x(bad person)=(good thing)

And to think girls prance about and get their tits out for this guy, simply so people can sit at home and masturbate over them.
Classy.

SG may have under-age members but I would think that you signed on with the understanding that none of the models are under 18. This isn't about the GGW producer's target audience, which I'm sure is composed of males along the entire spectrum of the age range, this is about the models he has used and the fact that, in some cases, he never bothered to check their ages.

SG should not have ANYONE, model or member, who is under 18. If you know of someone who is, then please report it to the staff. It's illegal for have underage members on a pornsite.

Aren't these things always filmed in clubs tho?
If so, it begs the question what underage girls are doing in clubs and if that's the case then surely the owners of the club need to be brought up on this too?

Maybe you missed the point that he's not being charged for underage girls ?
He's being charged for faulty record keeping.

Forget the closet, who's dressing this guy ??
If MY net worth were in the neighborhood of 2.5 Billon dollars, I would probably dress a bit more like the guy on the left , rather than Goodwill vogue.

I watched a girls gone wild once to see what it was all about. As much as I'm for nudity and sexuality, the amount of degrading talk that went on from the guys behind the cameras towards the girls was appauling. It seems like that asshole really hates women.
