Anna Nicole Smith's Son Found Dead

In a heartbreaking turn of events, hospital employees found Daniel Smith, Anna Nicole Smiths 20 year old son, dead in a hospital in the Bahamas. Anna Nicole gave birth to a baby girl on the island a few days earlier and Daniel traveled to the country to visit his mother and his new 6 pound, 9 ounce sister.

Smith's attorney, Howard K. Stern, said authorities had not yet determined what caused the death of Daniel Smith, whose body was found Sunday morning.

Walter Evans, a spokesman for the Royal Bahamian Police Force, would say only that the son of an undisclosed celebrity had been found in a room of the private Doctor's Hospital in Nassau.

Police declined to comment on the investigation, and Smiths attorney said the family does not know the cause of death.

"We have yet to learn the cause of death but do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor," Stern said. "Anna Nicole is absolutely devastated by the loss of her son. He was her pride and joy and an amazing human being."

More details to come in the next few days.

Nobody's accusing this kid of being the reincarnated Buddha or anything, but now, he's gone, period. It's not that we think he's amazing, it's that he's never going to have that chance.
