This is true, but I'm going to get on my knees now and say a special prayer of thanks that we won't be faced with a Janis Joplin biopic starring Lindsay Lohan.

Um... wtf? I think Ms. Deschanel is quite lovely and rather talented, but she isn't Janis Joplin. Her voice ain't crackly, her looks ain't crazy, and can she even sing? At least Pink has pipes and isn't conventionally pretty (and isn't that the whole point of a Janis picture? she's probably the only singer I can point to who was popular without molding her looks to some ridiculous standard of "femininity")... why would she drop out? SHE WAS THE IT GIRL! She got it, not some tart.
