Idlewild Get Stateside Release Date

As previously reported, Idlewild will drop its fifth full-length album, Make Another World, soon. The originally reported UK release date of February 26th has been pushed back until March 5th , with a U.S. digital release via iTunes a day later. Stateside fans that want to get their mitts on the physical CD/LP release of World will have to wait until April 3rd.

Also out on March 5th in the UK is a compilation curated by Idlewild frontman Roddy Woomble and The Incredible String Band’s Mike Heron, entitled Ballads of the Book. Ballads pairs off contemporary Scottish poets and authors with an array of indie-rockers for the comp’s 18 tracks. Idlewild make an appearance with poet Edwin Morgan on a track entitled “The Weight Of Years.” Morgan previously appeared on Idlewild’s 2002 album, The Remote Part.

Idlewild will play two HMV in-stores on February 26th and 27th before heading off for a 3-day stint in Japan. The band will return to the UK in March for an 11-day string of dates.
