Kristen Chenoweth, everyone’s favorite up-and-coming actress, received quite an honor recently; country legend Dolly Parton picked Chenoweth to star in her forthcoming biopic. Although the project isn’t in production yet, Chenoweth said she’s ready, and she isn’t letting her lack of boobage prevent her from taking the dream role.
She says, "I'm lacking in a few areas, bust-wise, but she has said publicly that if that were to ever come to pass she sees me doing it. She's told me that as well to my face. There is nothing that I can imagine being more fun and more challenging. I think I can do a very believable job of it. I love Dolly, everybody loves her. I talked with her at the Capitol on Memorial Day at one of the concerts and she jumped out of a freakin' cake with a red white and blue hat and just looked amazing. Her waist was tiny and I was just in amazement (sitting) in the wings. She walked up to me and she said, 'I've been hearing about you now Kristy. I just can't see anybody else playing me but you.' She calls her assistant in, 'Carol have you seen this girl? She's so me! Look at her.' Then she said, 'You know what, I'm gonna have my people stay in touch with you and see what we can do about that.'"
Parton knows Chenoweth is ready to do the film, but Parton herself isn’t quite ready yet.
"I've been writing a musical of my life story for a few years now, and if and when that comes about, she'll do it. But that's not ready; it's not being prepped at the moment."
Plus, Parton has some pressing shit going on right now. “Like what?” you ask. A fucking 9 to 5 musical!
"I put it aside when the opportunity came up for me to do the music for 9 to 5: the Musical for Broadway, and that's not even going to be on 'til spring of 2008."
