Cat Power Puts Together 'Dirty Delta Blues'

If you've seen Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) live recently, you know she's digging the whole band thing. Some even suggest that her history of alcohol and drug abuse might be related to the nervousness she experienced carrying the weight of a show as a solo performer. Now, basking in the comfort of a professional band, she's feeling the cat power, resting easier and showing the confidence that a lot of her fans knew she had all along. Chan is as adorable as you always wanted her to be. Her new and improved stage presence truly bring her songs to life. The tragedy is gone.

However, it seems the her stint with the Memphis Rhythm Band is about to come to an end. But rather than return to the life of a solo performer, Chan has assembled a new supporting cast. Debuting in December, the songstress has put together a new outfit which includes Dirty Three's Jim White, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's Judah Bauer, The Delta 72's Gregg Foreman, and Lizard Music's Erik Paparrozzi. They've dubbed themselves the Dirty Delta Blues and will support Chan on the remainder of her tour this year.11-28 Seattle, WA - Showbox
