Beck New Video Up And It Sucks

Beck has posted up a video for the song "Think I'm in Love" from the new album due this fall. The new video confirms two things. One: so far not so hip hop. He totally lied to MTV. Two: I hate music videos.

I never like music videos anymore. There are definitely a few that have impressed me in the past, but for the most part, mostly just crap. Originally I thought it was hip hop videos that ruined the genre, totally ignoring the artistic possibilities that 3 minutes and huge video budgets afforded, while still achieving massive airplay. Now, several years later, at least hip hop videos have bright colors, dumb gadgets, and bouncing booty. Rock videos aren't even trying. Just fucking lip syncing on set. Bad ideas, weird cheesy camera tricks.
