The New and Improved Natasha Lyonne
Natasha Lyonne experienced a rough spell—drug abuse, drunk driving, and an arrest for threatening to sexually abuse her neighbor’s dog. She finally landed in the intensive care unit of a New York hospital with a heart infection, collapsed lung, and hepatitis C. After her discharge, fans spotted the homeless actress dumpster-diving in New York’s Lower East Side. As difficult as it may seem, the chick is on her way back.
American Pie actress Natasha Lyonne seemed healthy and happy the other day, despite having an arrest warrant in New York. Lyonne, 27, went shopping with a male friend in Malibu, Calif., last week and looked well-fed and drug-free.
Although Lyonne appeared smiling and up-beat in photos released last week, she still has hard times ahead. A New York Judge issued a bench warrant for her arrest last January; Lyonne missed a court appearance related to the bizarre threats she made to the neighbor’s dog.
Her father, radio host Aaron Braunstein, claims the case was vacated, but the Manhattan district attorney's office says the warrant is still in effect. "They treat this poor girl like she's Bugsy Siegel," Braunstein told The Post's Hasani Gittens. "Natasha's doing very well."
Let’s hope she can get past these troubles and get back to what she does best: making funny, off-beat movies.
