OutKast's Big Boi Tours Solo

This can't come as a shock to anyone. For the tour in support of Idlewild (The Soundtrack) Big Boi is touring solo. Though the movie Idlewild and the concurrent soundtrack are a collaboration between OutKast, the Hip Hop Forces of Big Boi and Andre 3000, Andre has bowed out of the tour.

From the NME website, Big Boi states:"I will be going out down the road. My brother (Andre), he's not doing this side of the fence, just chilling. But who knows what the future holds. We're gonna see what happens, 'cause we got the ball and it's first down."Hopefully, this doesn't spell any substantial rift between the two. Unlikely, considering that while their last effort--a dual solo album entitled "Speakerboxx"/"The Love Below"--raised some eyebrows, the two have paired up yet again, this time in Hollywood as costars in the movie Idlewild due August 25th with the soundtrack following 3 days thereafter.

Andre 3000, a rising film star who still likes to dabble as a reigning Hip Hop impresario, was happy to talk to MTV about the latest edition to his oeuvre:
It's about this entertainer who at the top of his career just totally, completely stops doing it. He moves back to his hometown and teaches these five or six musically talented kids. Every show, we have a new song produced and performed by me and the kids, so stay tuned.
And in case any OutKast fans are skeptical - doubtful, but just in case - Andre extends an olive branch to his hardened fans:
The movie takes place in the 1930s, but it's hip. It's a new musical...whatever you have liked about OutKast in the past, when you go to the movie theatre...you'll be pleased. Believe me.
