Killers Get Classy on Sophomore
The Killers know they are good. They've told you before and they'll tell you again. To Billboard:
We wrote some great songs on the first one, but these have more of a classic feel."What has a more Classic feel? Their new album which is now sporting the name "Sam's Town," according to someone over at aol.
A better question is: How Classic? According to NME, Brandon Flowers considers it classic enough to crown it with an interesting title:
Brandon Flowers recently predicted (it) would be the best album of the last 20 years.
Smile and nod like you mean it.
Brandon Flowers' recipe for making their sound more classic involves:
We're trying to strip it down a little bit. Not have it be so busy. Just let it breathe and let it be a great song.
That and get an Engineer so good he could wear a cape: Alan Moulder. Teamed with a Producer who makes natural disasters sound good: Flood. Classic.
The new album has no unveiled tracklisting but a few track names have been spilled:
'Why Do I Keep Counting?',
'Bones',
'Uncle Johnny Did Cocaine',
'Read My Mind'
'Sam's Town'. The first single is to be "Why Do I Keep Counting?" due out September 18th, followed by the full album's release on October 3rd in US 2nd in UK. Hopefully, the new album has two booty shakers like "Mr. Brightside" and "Somebody Told Me," because as much as I like 50, I look funny when I party like it's your birthday.
