Getting Older Is No Fun, Says Rich, Successful, Happily Married Actress
It must be hard when beautiful women age. Seriously. Hollywood is tough on the ladies, constantly demanding physical perfection and capping a woman's desirability (on screen, at least) at age 50.
In a new interview with Marie Claire, Courteney Cox Arquette admits to having difficulty accepting the aging process.
"I have issues with getting old. There are huge changes in my body and face, and I obsess over them. I just try not to have too many mirrors around."
Cox admits she has considered going under the knife to salvage her youthful looks, but her husband won't let her do it.
She said: "David has a huge problem with it, but I don't. It's hard getting older - it's hard not to be the young one anymore."
That’s understandable, and her honesty is refreshing.
Having said that, a reality check may be in order. Cox Arquette was blessed with good genes that will keep her lovely for years to come. She made a pile of money on "Friends," allowing her to experiment with side projects. She has a beautiful, healthy baby girl. By all accounts she's in wedded bliss. And her bestest buddy is Jennifer Aniston.

So before she bemoans the deterioration of her looks at the grand old age of 42, may we suggest she look to, say, older women like Susan Sarandon, Kim Basinger, Helen Mirren, Sigourney Weaver, et al who still got it going on in their 50s and beyond.
And any time she wants to share that sweet Malibu pad of hers, we're there.
