Pantsless Weirdo Banned From Turkish TV

The Turkish Government took the lead in the crazy religious bullshit race yesterday when they banned Winnie The Pooh from being broadcast on TRT public television. The strangely dressed bear, who wears just a shirt and nothing downstairs, was not the source of the Muslim’s fear. Rather it was his little buddy Piglet who has rankled the increasingly Islamic government. It turns out Piglet is a pig. Pigs are considered unclean by Muslims, even when they wear a strange, stripped body suit. The eating of pork has been forbidden for hundreds of years, and now apparently so is watching pork in cartoon form. Several other cartoon pigs have been denied the right to show their supple, pink skin on TV.

First the station attempted to salvage the pig nightmare by cutting Piglet out of the show. It seemed like a good idea to lose one of the main three characters but upon viewing it was realized the pig was much to integral to the story line. Without the filthy pig Pooh seemed like a raving lunatic, standing in the forest without pants babbling to himself. Muhammad would not have found it amusing.

While banning a cartoon pig is a great way to show you are ready to join the European Union, some station employees have recently complained of increasing government intervention in broadcasting policy, such as the appointment of ruling party cronies to key posts at the institution. TNT currently runs several television and radio channels. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's is under fire for seeking to raise the profile of Islam in mainly Muslim but strictly secular Turkey. As usual, cartoon pigs are the first to pay the price.
