said it before, I'll say iot again. I HATE dreaming. if i never have another dream it will be too soon. probably why I only get about 4 hours of sleep a day. good dreams? blah, you eventually wake up and have to deal with reality... bad dreams? all I ever seem to have, or at least remember... 11 fucking years later, I dream of her, my whole day ruined.

I love the new (super) computer and the new tablet

I've been going back over old photos looking at what I have, and revamping the website... and you know, I wish like hell I'd have shot more in RAW. I have some great shots that are basically shit because I shot them in JPG. I was shooting in JPG because at first all I had was a 512MB card, and I shot in JPG to get as many shots as possible. I just bought a 2GB card for the trip to Seattle (TWO WEEKS!!!), so now I have that, and a 1GB to as back up. more than enough to shot RAW only from this point on.

I'm constantly thinking photography... learning this new digital world. and while I miss some things about film, I do like digital more each day. I loved developing negatives, but hated all other darkroom work. I simply loathed making prints. boring teadious process. but I love photoshop (especially with the new tablet), it is the digital darkroom. but it's a completely different animal. in alot of ways, you can do things with digital that would have been a pain in the ass with film, if they were possible at all.

when we look around, our eyes quickly adjust to the light on the fly, so we can look at a bright sky, then into shadows, and see detail in both. the camera can't do that. you get one aperture setting per shot, and usually it's a compromise... but with digital, I can take three shots, over exposed, normal, under exposed, I can then combine pieces and parts of each to get an end photo that would be more like what we see, and I can do it in minutes.

but I miss photographing people. but I feel creepy as hell going out looking for models. creepy factor times 10.

I have become addicted to google earth. I can spend hours looking at the program, looking for places I know, places I would like to visit, places that are interesting

I'm thinking about starting a group where people can share to coordinates for cool places they have found, like...

driving home from Taco Bell yesterday I saw some of the strangest clouds... this photo may be a bit hard to see the effect, depending on your monitor. I only noticed it because of my polarized sunglasses I never go out in daylight without. but the clouds in the background are pink, while the clouds in the foreground are normal white. what's wierd is that the clouds in the background don't seem that far away, so they should be the same color

ah hell I'm rambling... pictures being worth a 1000 words and all...
