my main issue? lack of facial hair.

That is such a great costume idea! As for the black facial hair, I think you'd be better off either shaving and attaching theatrical hair, or "painting" your existing hair "blonde" with some golden make-up. Ask the cute girl theatre majors at your local college for help. Costume help and a date in one.
