Well, this is my first post here, although I have been reading and checking out the site for quite a while. Im a grad student , and therefore have lots of time to spend n front of my pc. I figured it was time to pony up and pay my fair share considering how much i enjoy it.
I hope im right, but I think i'll be able to talk music, politics, and other things with people who so far seem to put some thought into what they say. That has not been my experience on other forums,
Maybe a bit about myself is appropriate here...Im a grad student studying American history (19th c ...exciting stuff, eh?). I spent 10 years working behind the scenes in the film industry, primarily as a set dresser, before i went back to school. Im teaching myself how to play guitar - yes my neighbors are presently organizing some sort of mob to oust me - Im sure ive seen more torches and pitchforks lying around recently...I read a lot, and head out to shows and events of various descriptions from time to time.
I am increasingly gettnig the chance to travel around the US and I have to admit, the more I see of it, the more I like it.
Anyway, ill keep this first one brief, and just use it to say hello to everyone who might read this.
Feel free to respond, say hello or plain old ignore me...
