Hello true believers!
So I'm a day late with this, yesterday was a bit of a crazy day and unfortunately the whole blogging thing took a back seat. For all you Canadians out there, what did you get up to for the long weekend? Lots of camping, BBQing or just hanging around? I did a bit of all the above haha. My Long weekend actually started on Thursday, and on that day I met up with Tamara for lunch downtown Calgary. Tamara had made chicken parmesan the night before, so we ate the left overs for lunch and it was delicious! Didn't get up to much else that day. On Friday I went out to my parents house to help them do some work on the kitchen. They're in the middle of renovating it and needed a hand putting up a temporary support beam while that make the new one. Friday night I went home and sat in my backyard with a nice cold beer and enjoyed the evening air... That is of course until 10:30 when my friend called me and asked if I wanted to go out to BP's for drinks. Ended up getting pretty drunk that night and we were up until about 5am which is about when we passed out. Now I'm not an avid tweeter but I do get on there and post stuff. Some of these are just too funny, so I'll share a couple of the tweets with you:

Saturday I was back out at my parents this time while they were working on the kitchen I was laying the floor down on the new deck out there. Then that evening I cooked my parents a lobster dinner for their anniversary. Sunday I got to spend the day with Tamara, we made breakfast together and then watched a movie on the couch. After that we headed to a BBQ at my friends house where he made steaks and bratwursts. Later in the night we decided to play street hockey. Monday ended up being a pretty relaxing day where I mostly just lazed around and didn't do much haha. Then back to work on Tuesday. So what did you do for the long weekend?
The Hunt for Entertainment
While it may seem like I'm a super busy person, I do have a lot of downtime. And in that downtime I like to "veg out" and play video games or watch movies or read comic books/graphic novels. I've got Rage going on the XBox 360 right now and it's alright, but it's having a hard time keeping my attention. I haven't found a new comic book or graphic novel to read in a pretty long time, so I'm open to suggestions. Movie wise I watched Tucker and Dale vs. Evil on the weekend, if you haven't seen this I highly recommend it! It's hilarious!
In the name of Science!
Did anyone else watch the live feed of Curiosity's landing? How amazing was that!? It was fantastic for me because I got huge inspiration from that for more of my writing and almost finished one of my character bios. I think I might even have some of them ready to share next week sometime! While Curiosity sparked my creative writing for a sci-fi book it also inspired me in another way too. It's just so amazing what we've accomplished, and while this isn't the first rover to land on Mars, Curiosity itself is a major scientific accomplishment in space exploration. Like imagine if we could send rovers like Curiosity to other planets!? That would just be so amazing! And speaking of Science and inspiration how about Neil deGrasse Tyson? What an amazing figure for science today and the way he gets his message out there. Simply amazing.
Well I think that's all for now, I promise next week I'll share some of my character bios with you! Chow for now!
Cheers,
Jay
