So I'm off to see Grindhouse. I hope it's a good movie. I also can't wait for ATFH to open some time this week. That should be FUUNNN. The more stupid, the better, I say! Bring on the retardedness!!

cold cup of coffee

it was a cold cup of coffee. bitter cold. I don't know if it was old, but it was cold. ice cold. cold as night. cold as outer space. really cold. it makes me think of where the coldest place in the world is. or the universe, for that matter.

So I don't know what the deal is. I was charged automatically for membership here again, I was expecting my account to run out. I don't have that kind of money, I know it's only another $24 but that's $24 I was going to eat with. I was going to take a break and renew my membership next month. When I email SG I don't get any response from them. What the hell.

Because of this, I went to an old board I used to frequent, and boy did the memories come back. As long as I'm on the subject of memories, talk about sad. I was just sad that a lot of people I got to know personally have come and gone, lived and died, so on and so on. Best friends and swollen enemies. I don't know.

What the fuck is wrong with this?

This fuckin page. Fridgemagnet was right.

Pulled the new sound card, my new camera broke and because I didn't keep the reciept they wouldn't take it back. ARRGGHH! I had it like four days. missed a dental appointment because I wasn't feeling good.

The whitest trash speakers you will ever see:

So my shit finally came in. I'm having power consumption problems though, as I installed a fan and immediately afterward, it started rebooting. I went back and pulled a few things, including my SoundBlaster card (sob!). I was thinking of throwing in the 250w power supply on top of the 350w. But I don't know the ramifications of such, so I will avoid doing this, no matter how tempting it may seem. I think it's the draw from the T.V. my dad gave me as well, I'm not sure. lol I can only run my microwave on level 7, because if I go any higher I end up blowing a circuit in the whole apartment.

The sound card I got was a piece of shit. Oh well.

yay. So I got paid last night, even better because I thought I wouldn't get paid until tonight, much less this weekend. Having food in the house is a good thing, indeed. I ordered my computer parts last night; 1 gig of RAM, a case fan, a USB hub, a USB extension cable, and a headset for my phone. It's an Xact phone, if you've ever heard of them, thye're kind of expensive and uncomfortable. I've been having trouble hearing people on the phone, but I have a 50% hearing loss in my left ear from getting borked with a shotgun. That might have something to do with it. But one thing that I've also noticed is that you have to hold the phone at a wierd angle to hear completely. Other than that, it's a righteous little phone.

Oh yeah, and my air mouse. That too. Can't forget that. Also, I ordered a USB sound card that was designed for these headphones I bought a couple of weeks ago. Another USB gizmo; hence, the USB hub. Right now, I have five devices and four outlets, and now I will need two more.

The air mouse is what I'm excited about. From last week's ventures, trying to get Windows 95 to run on this compter was such a...joy. See my last entry. I got it to install but when it was time to boot up I got some serious errors. But it was a good experiement. So much for the 3DZonemaster and MediaTech, a company that ten years ago manufactured these ultrasonic-positioning devices and didn't follow up on the support.

Also, I'm bidding on a video card identical to mine, a Geforce 6200. Why? Because shortly after I bought it, I found out that they manufactured some Geforce 6200 cards with 6600 chips. Now I forgot why. But I was looking on E-bay, and I recall someone saying that on these particluar models of the 6200 the RAM chips are at a 45* angle. Well, I found one. Cheap. A lot less than I paid for mine. That'll gimmee 4 more pixel pipelines.

So what do I put in here? Who the hell wants to read about my pointless existence? Gee what did I do today? Oh boy, I cleaned the dust out of my box, and reinstalled a bunch of software, fucked around, played Unreal. I had to go to the dentist Monday, and my tooth still hurts from it. Amid my other health problems, I have a cold, I'm tired, and my fucking jaw hurts. And I'm really low on cash, I spent too much money already and I don't get paid for another...week. I hope that Direct Deposit shit shows on Friday, and not post on Friday and show on Sunday.

So where the fuck was I? I had to stop to fix the fucking tilde key on my keyboard.```````````````````````ok, it seems to work now. Now, I'm about to undertake the daunting task of trying to install 95 on my XP platform in order to get this light gun to work; which involves repartitioning one of my drives, converting to to FAT32, and installing 95. I don't know the repercussions of doing this, so I'm going in blind. ugh.

In other news, I bidded on and won a pair of Icemat Siberia headphones. Except, the guy advertised them as a set that included a USB soundcard. Which, it didn't. He offered me a refund or $15 off. I took the $15 off. I looked around for a soundcard and I can pick one up for $30. But the reviews of this sound card are less than perfect; it sports 5.1 and 7.1 VIRTUAL sound, which they say isn't like the real thing. I don't know. Anything has to sound better than the craptastic 5.1 Live card that I got. I love the headphones though. They are designed just like the Sony's that I boosted from that electronics store years ago. Maybe some parts are cheaper though, it's hard to say. Maybe made by the same vendor as Sony. Obviously same design.

Right now I'm looking at getting the soundcard. I've been looking at memory as it will really boost my system. I need a gig. I also need to pay my dues here next month. Luckily, my phone bill won't be nearly as high as I have paid my DSL and phone bill deposit off. I also need a USB hub. Well, I need a lot of cumpter shit.. DDURUURRURUR

I'm so retarded.

Well, I haven't updated this for a while, I was really determined to keep up with this but it didn't work. Anyway, I did the whole sleep specialist thing, I slept in the hospital for the night while I had tons of sensors and wires hooked up to my head. It was really uncomfortable, I didn't sleep for the first half of the night, and at one point the tech came in to adjust the wires and he scared the living shit out of me. I don't know what is going to come of this, but we'll see. I'm not really concerned about my sleep, my my doc believes that other problems stem from it; exactly what though, I don't know.

I'm really having doubts about voting, but I am going to do it anyway, and I've heard all sorts of things about voting here in Albuquerque, that we are using paper ballots because of some electronic voting machine fuck-ups, that the city spent a shitload of money on these machines and they don't work for some reason. People are waiting for a long time to vote. They say it takes about an average of nine minutes; that doesn't bother me, it's the time it takes to wait. But I think this is a crucial time in this country, and I think I'm pretty convinced of how I'm going to vote. The only thing is that I have to make sure I'm in the right precinct.

I guess that's all for now. I have finally started to settle into this little apartment here; the last few years have been hell, I haven't had any time to myself. I'm tired, but on a more, spiritual level, shall we say. Autumn is here; I'm really centimental about this place for some reason when Autumn is here; probably because I had a lot of good times in college. In particular, I remember going to class on one autumn eve to an English final, and just the feeling in the air, the warmth, the quietness and the sereness of it. Happiest time of my life. smile

Holy Jesus. Another night of insomnia. Well, went to a sleep disorder specialist yesterday, and I am going to have to go sleep in the hospital next month for one night while they hook all sorts of wires to my head. This ought to be interesting. I mean, on my list of health issues, sleep is down near the bottom. I told the doc that and he gave me a funny look. But it was like, "you know, I've got other issues that sort of outwiegh that sleep thing. Honestly, I haven't been in a place to deal with all of the bullshit up until a couple of months ago, and more bullshit came up. I have a running tab against my health and well-being as it is right now." But I think a lot of it is excess stress, considering.

haha! Finally went to the dentist & got started on this root canal. My cheek is still numb, but I can already tell it's better. I've been in physical pain many a time, but I swear this tooth has caused more pain than anything else I can ever think of. And it's only ONE LITTLE TOOTH, right. Sure. Say that again when your in the shower at 3:00 in the morning bent over from the agony. It's amazing how much pain ONE LITTLE TOOTH can cause. lol even though they were interns they did a good job. Well, that's over with.
