Still no unemployment, still frustrated but there is supposedly a light at the end of the tunnel. The rep I talked to over a week ago said that it would take a maximum of 10 days to resolve the issue we were having. That 10 days actually runs out this Thursday so pretty much any day now I should find out something. I sent in an e-mail to remind them that they're supposed to help me out in case they forgot so keep your fingers crossed. I don't anticipate any problems but I'm not assuming the best either.
Plans for the move are underway, well were underway but will be again once I get my unemployment checks finally. My step dad is nervous about us trying to find work up there but I'm a little more confident. Its not going to be easy because jobs in Eureka CA are pretty scarce but if we work hard enough I'm sure we can find something. Its not like there are no jobs at all, we'll just have to be less picky about the jobs we get.
Internal Combustion Engines are dead to me. I know you've all heard me spout off at the mouth about how much I like cars but I'm serious. Gas prices are too high and gas powered cars are too expensive. Plus they pollute like nothing else short of a coal fired power plant. So I'm going to dig up some beat to shit rolling giloppy that barely runs or doesn't run at all, strip out the engine and drop in an electric motor some batteries and assorted knick knacks and whallah! Home built conversion from gas to electric. Its not as crazy as you might think, apparently more and more families around the U.S. (especially here in CA) are ditching their gas guzzlers for hybrids, plug-in electric hybrids or home converting their junk car to electric. Hell I saw a video of a guy in New Zealand who converted a dead car to electric and he didn't even know what a tie-rod was! Once we get a place with a garage I'm setting up shop. Electric car here I come!
