The Sex Pistols live in 2008...
Yes, it happened yesterday night here in my town, they were the headliner of one of the five days of a Summer open-air festival. The entrance was free, so about 10.000 people gathered in a muddy park (it had rained the whole day) to see the original UK punks on stage.
The bill also featured two lame Italian bands and the mighty Wire, who were absolutely the best, they played only about 45 minutes, but it was great! Three guys and a woman in their early 50s showed what it means to play, performing songs from their recent release "Object 47", the previous "Send" and "Read & Burn", as well as some older classics from their first legendary three albums, "Pink Flag", "Chairs Missing" and "154".
Then, it was time for The Pistols: Steve Jones is the fattest man I've ever seen, he's 50 but looks like a 65 years old alcoholist, Glen Matlock looks like a good boy from the late 60s', Paul Cook a nice old chap, and Johnny Rotten is probably the only still showing a certain energy.
They played mostly songs from "Nevermind The Bollocks", obviously, but also covers (their classic versions of "Steppin Stone" and "No Fun", as well as Hawkwind's "Silver Machine" and Modern Lovers' "Road Runner"!). It was like one should expect from the Sex Pistols: bad executions, bad vocals, pull-the-leg attitude, etc.
Fortunately, as I said before, the entrance was free wink

Fortunately yes! I always thought that Sex Pistols in 2008 was just a total rip-off.
How are you? ^^

Genocide Organ, an obscure band? I've always thought they were a little "famous" in the indus/power electronics circle ^^ I know it since years, thanks to friends who have the same tastes as me. I've never saw them for the moment but I keep faith wink

I don't have to thank internet but one of my best friends for this ^^
What a pity for the last concert :s I've already seen gigs with a terrible noise, it turns me angry every time, it's a total lack of respect for the people!
I don't think GO have played in France, I heard it's a little bit difficult to invit this "kinda band" - if you know what I mean.

(Did you take an ear on Pig so? ^^)

About Pig, I can suggest you "The Swining" and "Sinsation" which are by far my two favorites, plus the last one "Pigmata" (also released as "Pigmartyr" by Watts, but it's the same, Ray Watts had problems with his former label and had to change the name to be published). It's a bit different form KMFDM, more personal (obviously), and if you like his voice you'll be still in love! wink

I also expected a different setlist from Ministry which would go from "The Land of Rape and Honey" to "The Last Sucker" but nevermind, it was my last and only chance so I was more than happy =)
"Homo Song" lets me think that "Sexo Olympico" will be a great greata lbum ;=) I share your opinion about olds & new RevCo, I definitely prefer the older ones.

What a pîty you live far from my city, I'm sur we could have great chats around a beer or two wink

Who will play there? I won't go 'cause I'll have my first exams in December, and I probably will have a lot of work between the uni & money work.

I just thought about it, about what I said about Pig, "The Swining" is now re-released as "The Swining/Red Row and Sore", with an alternative cover (less cool than the prime one, I must admit, with naked Watts doing the swatiska with his body ^^)

Cool is the word yes =) and Ray Watts is so a good looking man, it's a good point too =p

I live in Rennes, in Britain, it's about 2 hours of high speed train far from Paris, and I live lots of friends who live there.
