a large portion of the week it's just been annoying, hardly sleeping due to (painful) coughing fits and the real annoying - the additional symptoms that change on a daily basis *ugh*
Tuesday I was so weakend that even getting up to eat/drink was such a workout that I knew I couldn't make it into work...
trust me, I'm a die-hard and if I CAN work, I'm gonna work, no matter how much I have to push myself physically... but, a'yep, Tuesday was beyond my limit of ability *sigh*
BUT... on the days that my speaking ability is fritzed (which have been a few of 'em, like today), I'm fairly certain my co-workers are actually happy about it *grins*
Otherwise it's been semi-normal, busy at work, for example - though I'm nigh caught up on several things, which rocks
the ex and I took the spawnlings winter/clothes shopping last Satyr's Day, which was a helluva thing... good gods are kids' clothes friggin' expensive!
after the barely-there Tuesday, I remembered a co-worker/friend who had passed that always gave me this medicinal tea stuff when I felt ill, so took it upon myself to find a place that would have it...
lo! and behold! the new HyVee fulfilled the demand... it's been helping, somewhat - the stuff doesn't kill the coughing but makes it less painful when I cough (even if it's only for a short while)
I'm already almost out of the stuff (surprise, surprise!), so I'll definitely be heading there again to purchase more in the near future
( they taste pretty good, too, and works so unusually for a tea - but I guess that's the medicinal/herbal edge to it, neh? )
of course - and in mostly the most annoying ways with only a couple exceptions - being/feeling ill brings out the idiots online *growls*
it's sad that we've become such a "doctor knows best" society that even for something as simple as a cough or a stubbed toe, "go to a doctor" becomes most people's annoying auto-response
sorry, kids, but being uninsured even a visit to UrgentCare is a very spendy endeavour and not worth it unless it's something serious like inability to breathe or hear or a major flesh wound (though that'd be more ER than UC, I admit)
not to mention all of the N0bamaians that spew out of the woodwork like a mouldy shit-fed virus with their "see, this is why you need insurance - which you can not get [cheaply/for free/ignorant rambling] thanks to [N0bama]"
*ugh*
well, I responded to those with a posting this morning :
10/24 (10a) :
RE: recent upsurge of "everyone can afford insurance" posts/comments/messages :
*I* am just one example that our views of "affordable" are not the same. My monthly net less household bills less frugal food purchases is 1/40th to 1/20th (dependant on how much OT I take in) of the cheapest insurance found on MNSure (MN's equivalent of N0bamacare) - which means it would take me roughly 2-4yrs to be able to pay ONE MONTH of what you consider "affordable insurance"
in short - fuck you, sheep, and STFU already with your ignorant postings based on what your "saviour president" is spewing
( this also goes toward why I don't own a vehicle - the insurance alone would run the same as the aforementioned cheapest insurance... then add in tabs and cost of vehicle itself... yehhh, not gonna happen anytime soon, kids )
ANYways - since anyone that calls will be sorely disappointed with a very short convo on my end with my hoarse barely-there voice, I've actually been answering every call - even the unknown ones
...it makes it easier to hang up when you're basically inable to have a conversation :D
so... that's all I've got, my Lovelies and Gentlefolk - here's to being rid of this coughing/sore throat thing in short measure!
this week's mostly ill-related twits ::
10/17 :
bloody.. hells! opened the deck shade and had the 7 hells scared outta me by four huge birds wandering over my deck - like knee-high huge!
never seen birds like this before - if it wasn't for their size, they'd look like "normal" birds with spots all over their feathers :(
10/18 :
on that very rare occasion when an adult actually said we could ask for whatever kind of snack we want, I was the one who asked for bacon
10/19 :
for as bad as I may sound - when I even have a voice - it only hurts when I cough.
which means I have coughing fits several times an hour
10/21 :
this cold needs to make up its mind - enough bloody Wheel Of Symptoms on a daily basis, it's gettin' right old already! *coughs*
10/24 :
ain't completely kicked this coughing/sore throat thing... yet... but at least I'm able to get more sleep as the nights progress...
