First off, apologies to the several who had called since this morning's posting - I still haven't picked up/ordered batteries for my phones...
thanks for the calls
if you left a message, I'll have to check them at work if I have the moment(s)
even if I'd have picked up, the best you wouldn't gotten was a "hel..." before it cut out - I figured that wouldn't be very appropriate
Moving on... following up on a friend's response on fb, I've spent several hours of this morning looking into their suggestion and it looks like it just may work...
SO... the battle plans for vacation appear to centered upon San Francisco
this is someplace I've never been AND appears that the combination of flight and hotel is affordable - plus seems to be a lot of intriguing/interesting things to check out
even in what's considered the "better areas" to stay between Golden Gate and Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39, there are affordable hotels
...if I wanted to go old school/euro-style there's even a nice place with great reviews that has shared bathrooms and no TV
( since I seldom turn on the TV at home, I doubt I'd be doing so someplace I intend to be out-and-about at - as for shared bathrooms, it wouldn't be a first, just a first for a hotel )
the best flight prices appear to be around the same time as best hotel prices...
so... assuming, of course, that the date(s) are approved, I'm looking at Jun, M15/T16 returning F19
( which, from today's research, seems to be decent weather in the area as well - I'd still bring my jacket, but I did that in the heat of Vegas as well :) )
so, lovelies and gentlefolk, it seems I have a vacation to get approved, flight and hotel approved, and quasi-planned
I don't like to plan out too much ahead of time, other than the necessary, preferring to check out what catches the eye, interests me at the moment, or even based on local suggestion
so... if anyone has any further info/ideas/recommends in regards to San Francisco, hit me with 'em!
